K2 Solar, Inc. Honored by the National Environmental Hall of Fame

San Jose, CA – October 26, 2010:   San Jose based K2 Solar, Inc., a leading design and build firm for Commercial Solar Photovoltaic Systems, receives the San Jose Environmental Hall of Fame award in the Solar Photovoltaic Energy Systems category from the National Environmental Hall of Fame.

The National Environmental Hall of Fame recognizes the most outstanding companies, groups, and individuals for their longstanding commitment to creating a green, sustainable planet and for their efforts to prevent climate change.  Criteria for Hall of Fame award recipients include recommendations by peers, longevity in the environmental field and overall positive environmental impact.

The National Environmental Hall of Fame has honored top environmentalists across the country for their extraordinary efforts and achievements.  The list includes:

• Harrison Ford for his impressive work to prevent deforestation & climate change and to maintain biodiversity.
• Ed Begley Jr. as a starter and supporter of the green movement and sustainable living practices.
• Pierce Brosnan for his tireless support of marine mammal & wetland protection and several clean air & water campaigns
• William McDonough for his pioneering efforts in environmental design and his ability to move many large corporations to embrace sustainable building practices
